Next Week: Blues
Next week you will have Luke Scott our Team Leader for the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media. He will be spending the morning with you looking at Blues, it's development and you will be writing blues songs.
For those who forgot this week you will be starting at 9:30am in 260! Make sure you get there promptly and make a good first impression please since I have told him how great you all are (hint hint).
Remember your groups for the set pieces are:
Cotton Club Jazz Band:
Rebecca,
Yahya (for now, we may need you in two!)
Konstantin
Erin
Broadway/Stage Comedy:
Abi
Amy
David
Meg
Ballroom Harmony Group:
Jess
Olivia
Shannon
It is up to you to start working on these pieces as I will be wanting to see evidence of them on your blogs and in rehearsals over the next few weeks. Any struggles, just let me know.

Welcome!
Welcome to Musicianship 1B...
...some basic information about the module...
What is the module aiming to do?
This module aims to develop solo performance, ensemble performance, composing, arranging, music theory and critical thinking skills.
How will I be taught?
Sessions will be a combination of theoretical and historical formal lectures, informal seminars, practical workshops, individual and group composing sessions.
What is the module theme?
This semester's theme is the 1920's and 30's. We will be looking at the musical, technological, cultural and political developments of this time period in the hope of creating an end of term collaborative show with Dance.
What are my responsibilities?
Students are encouraged to bring their instruments to sessions and do additional practice and rehearsal outside of lecture time. A register will be kept for ensemble rehearsals to ensure all students participate equally.
